About The Travel Belles

In the voices of women from around the world, The Travel Belles is a high quality, inspiring and practical place to conceive, and perhaps even someday, plan the trips and vacations of your dreams. So what exactly is a travel belle?

Is a travel belle the same as a travel girl? Partially, on most days.

Is a travel belle the same thing as  a travel lady? Usually, but by no means always.

Is she a travel woman?

Well, yes and no.

Like female kind in general, we’re difficult to pigeonhole. We are opinionated, funny, serious, poignant, intellectual, easy going and yeah, we’ll admit it, even on occasion a little uptight. When asked what we care about most, many of us would say our families. If we’re a real Southerner- which is far from a prerequisite by the way – and asked what our favorite book is, by reflex we may say the Bible.  But once we get any regional standard truths and niceties out the way, stand back. There’s lots on our agendas.

What is essential to make one a travel belle? Simply put, no matter her age, or location on the globe, she enjoys getting out of town. She would live large on a trip to Florence or Rome, even if they are the Florence and Rome in South Carolina and Georgia respectively. She likes seeing and doing and learning and being waited on in restaurants. Perhaps she cares most about thread counts, fluffy robes and pedicures. Or maybe she’s a happy camper who willingly gives up her flat iron and enjoys sleeping under the stars.

She’s her own unique combination of many things. Mostly she’s dollar wise and penny foolish, but someday she would like to do the opposite for a week or two in France or Italy. She’s more than happy to be extra frugal for a while, especially if it means she gets to be even just a little bit extravagant on her next vacation. On Saint Barts would be nice.

Gas tank full and passport current. There is no trust fund.

Here are the  Submission Guidelines. Even though she wrote them Margo thinks they are a little wordy. If your eyes glaze over, stop reading and just send us something under 1000 words or so pasted in the body of an email. All we ask is to be sure you’ve had a look around first to get a sense of what we are looking for.
